What is VG 30 Bitumen

VG 30 bitumen is a viscosity grade bitumen classified according to its absolute viscosity at 60 degrees Celsius measured in centistokes. The viscosity grading system, adopted by many countries including India under IS:73, provides a more engineering-relevant classification than penetration grading, as it directly relates to the bitumen's behavior under actual pavement temperature conditions.

VG 30 has a minimum viscosity of 240 cSt and maximum of 360 cSt at 60 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for regions with moderate to high ambient temperatures where pavement surfaces experience significant heat buildup.
